MacFarlane, Machel big winners in T&T mas

Brian MacFarlane created history in Trinidad and Tobago when he led his band Humanity: The Circle of Life to a fifth consecutive win for Band of the Year at Trinidad and Tobago carnival.

 

He shattered the record held by Wayne Berkeley for four consecutive wins.

Running second in the large band category was Tales of Merrie Olde England by Trini Revellers, while in third spot was South Pacific by Legacy. Colour of Green by Showtime Trinidad ran fourth.

In the medium band category, Ronnie and Caro’s Survivors copped the top spot, with Village Productions’ Village Life running second. The Harvard Revellers’ D Latin Flavour placed third while Panorama champions Neal & Massy All Stars placed fourth with Fleets In.

In the small band category, Beauty Beneath the Sea by Belmont Original Stylish Sailors took first place, followed by Tribal Connection’s Gathering of the First People.

In the Road March race, Machel Montano’s Advantage was the clear winner, followed by Iwer George’s Come to Meh.
