"I was one of the candidates who did sign a letter asking Mr Grant to step down as the political leader of the People's Action Movement and I wish not to comment more on the matter until some further time," said Roy Flemming, a PAM candidate in the last general election.
Another PAM candidate, Glenroy Blanchette, confirmed that he too had called upon Grant to step aside.
"Yes I did sign a letter which was written to the Chairman of the party, Mr Sydney Osbourne, in confidence in which I as a candidate raised several issues concerning the political leader," Blanchette said.
He said he would not discuss party issues in the public domain.
Two other PAM candidates, Louie Williams and Juni Hodge, who appeared on a local radio programme on Friday, declined to say whether or not they had challenged Grant's leadership, insisting that the matter was an internal party affair.
