Guyana and West Indies star batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan will take no part in the Zimbabwe series after being left out of a 14-man squad named last Monday.
The 29-year-old right hander has not played international cricket since last December after sustaining a back injury on the Test tour of Australia and according to reports the West Indies selectors have given the batsman extra time to fully recover before making a return to international cricket.
In a recent statement, the West Indies newly appointed coach Ottis Gibson stated that the experienced batsman was being safeguarded in light of crucial upcoming campaigns.
According to Gibson, Sarwan is crucial to the team setup and wanted the player to be fully fit for the ICC Twenty/20 World Championship and also the South Africa tour for three Tests and five ODIs later this year.
The West Indies selectors have made two changes to the squad, all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has been included after making a full recovery from a finger injury sustained while playing in Australia in January.
Dwayne's younger brother Darren Bravo has been recalled after being dropped following the one-off T/20 international against Zimbabwe.
All-rounder Dwayne Smith and Andre Fletcher have been dropped .
The full squad for the three One-Day-Internationals to be played in St. Vincent is: Chris Gayle(Captain), Adrian Barath, Sulieman Benn, David Bernard, Darren Bravo, Dwayne Bravo, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Narsingh Deonarine, Nikita Miller, Kieron Pollard, Denesh Ramdin, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach and Darren Sammy.
The five-match series is level 1-1.
