A woman's cricket team is set to participate in the all men's senior Toronto and District cricket association league in Toronto.

By doing so, the Kaisoca Ladies Cricket Club will become the first ladies team to participate in what was previously an all male domain,

The women's team is fully supported by the Toronto and District cricket association and it's executives as well as ICC Americas and Cricket Canada.

The objective of this move to form this club is to give the ladies much needed match play practice for any upcoming national and international matches and also to start a ladies cricket league of at least four teams in the T&D league for 2011.

The Kaisoca Ladies Cricket club currently has sixteen registered players as well as another twenty players who are interested in learning the game including eight Canadian national players.

The Kaisoca team plays its first match on Sunday (June 27) at Sunnybrook Park at 1pm.

The women's team is being coached and managed by well-known historian and author George Maharaj, who is also an avid cricketer.
